➡️Tips for Icing a Cake:

  • Allow the cake to cool completely before even attempting to pour the glaze on top. If you don't, the glaze will not properly cling because the cake is too warm.
  • Place the cooled cake on top of the serving platter. Gently lift the edges of the cake and place pieces of parchment paper underneath.
  • Then pour the glaze on top of the cake and allow the excess to collect on the parchment paper.
  • Remove parchment paper before serving.

❓What can you use to thin out melted chocolate?

  • If you find that the chocolate glaze is too thick, you can try to thin it out by adding a little vegetable oil or extra cream.
  • Start by adding in a small amount of your chosen fat and mix until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Keep in mind that too much fat can ruin the texture and flavor of your chocolate so use it sparingly.

🍶Storage Tips

  • Leftover chocolate cake should be stored in an airtight container to keep it fresh for as long as possible.
  • If you are keeping the cake refrigerated, make sure to remove it from the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving to get the most delicious taste.
